Community Emergency Radio Communications
Community Lifeline Radio Network: We are developing a program where local radio amateurs will work in conjunction with FRS/GMRS users to connect residents with emergency services during disasters, ensuring communication when conventional networks are down.
Neighborhood Communications Hub: In partnership with volunteer organizations, we are building a framework to train communities in radio operations. These groups will manage local FRS/GMRS networks, while amateur radio operators provide extended countywide and statewide connectivity to authorities.
Youth Signal Corps: We are creating opportunities for youth organizations, such as scout troops, to engage in hands-on radio training. Participants will learn communication protocols, message handling, and be encouraged to pursue amateur radio licenses.
Welfare Message Relay Program: We are establishing a toolkit with templates and resources to help residents send welfare messages from disaster zones, keeping families and friends connected during emergencies.
