What will you do if cell phones are down
Communicate with family and friends during emergencies is a vital part of community safety
As a GMRS user, your ability to communicate with family and friends during emergencies is an essential part of keeping your loved ones safe. You may not hold a formal radio license, but your communication setup is a practical, effective solution for staying connected when local networks are down. Our group welcomes GMRS users like you to join our network, where you can collaborate with experienced ham operators and integrate your GMRS system into a broader emergency response framework. You’ll learn how to maximize the effectiveness of your GMRS radio during disasters and contribute meaningfully to local preparedness efforts without needing the technical expertise of a licensed operator. By being part of our team, you gain access to valuable resources, such as training on best practices during emergencies, while still using the equipment you’re comfortable with. Together, we can enhance Montville’s overall emergency communication capabilities, ensuring that families, small groups, and the community stay connected when it matters most.
